Applications are invited from Indian nationals coming from booked classifications (SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD (VH, OH, HH)) under unique recruitment drive for the post of Assistant Professor in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Design, employment Earth Sciences, Economic Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Space, Planetary & Astronomical Sciences & Engineering (SPASE), Sustainable Energy Engineering, employment and Kotak School of Sustainability.
Several Departments likewise take part in the mentor and research study activities of interdisciplinary post-graduate programs in the institute in Photonics Science and Engineering and Materials Science Program. Appointments for these programs are made in the relevant departments among those listed above.
Minimum Qualification (Assistant Professor): Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc) at the preceding degree in the suitable branch, with an excellent scholastic record in all preceding degrees. For a fresh Ph.D, the position will be on agreement basis for the first 3 years, and can be regularized afterwards. For those with 3 or more years of post-PhD teaching/research/industrial experience, routine consultation can be made.
The Institute follows appointment in direct recruitment based on the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, employment 2019. The present special drive advertisement is to fill 56 stockpile vacancies in reserved categories till 31st December 2024.

Other information:
1. The pay brings all other allowances as admissible to a Central Civil servant stationed at Kanpur.
2. The advantages, such as LTC, medical re-imbursement, transport allowance, kids education allowance, contribution towards New Pension System (NPS), re-imbursement of telephone expenses, book grants, HRA (if housing not supplied), research study initiation grant (as much as Rs 25 lakhs with the arrangement to obtain an additional grant) and towards nationwide and worldwide conferences shall be permitted based on the Institute norms.
3. From its internal resources, the Institute supplies an additional top-up income of Rs 25,000/- each month for the first three years of service to the newly signed up with professor. After 3 years of service, the professor(s) are qualified for consideration for Young Faculty Fellowship (open for professors of age upto 40 years) offering a top-up salary of Rs.15,000/- per month for three years, and/or Faculty Chair positions providing a top-up salary of Rs 25,000/- monthly for three years. Both the positions are used based on performance.
4. Traveling allowance for joining: The Institute will compensate global travel expenses for the recently signed up with faculty member and reliant household members to the optimum limitation of Rs. 1,50,000. Domestic travel repayment will be according to government guidelines.
5. The Institute makes every effort to offer real estate to all professors members. Your homes are equipped with totally free high-speed internet.
6. Mere eligibility will not entitle a prospect for being required interview.
7. Applicants who do not fulfil the minimum experience requirements might be offered a consultation on contract. The requirements of minimum certification and/or experience might be relaxed when it comes to prospects with impressive qualifications.
8. The Institute follows the appointment in direct recruitment according to the provisions of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The prospects are required to send the Caste/ Category/ Disabilities Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the format prescribed by the Government of India for this purpose. The Institute follows the Central list in the case of SC/ST, OBC & PwD.

11. Applicants called for and appearing in interview will be paid to and employment fro economy air fare/train fare by the fastest route (within India) and taxi fare from Lucknow airport to IITK and back. Please note that the amount of fare shall be remitted through electronic transfer by our Accounts Section after processing the claim. Local hospitality will be taken care of by the Institute.
12. Applicants who are used in Government or Semi-Government Organizations will be needed to produce a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from their employer at the time of the interview.
